With close to 60 years in business and having undergone several diversifications in its products and services range, Alruqee Group has emerged as one of the distinguished Saudi companies in its field.

“Customer satisfaction has been the essence of the success story of Alruqee Group since its humble beginning in the year 1949 as a general trading business,” a company spokesman says.
Its first business diversification came about with the construction boom in Saudi Arabia in 1976. The company entered the fields of building construction and oilfield products.  The second diversification occurred with the industrial boom in the country in 1982 when it set up an industrial supply business in machines, equipment and other material required by the private and the public sectors engaged in the kingdom’s manufacturing sector.  From then on, as the spokesman says, the company “leapfrogged” several stages of growth to become one of the leading industrial business groups in Saudi Arabia. It commanded a sales turnover of SR80 million ($21.4 million)  in 2005, which jumped to SR120 million in 2006 and is projected to cross SR160 Million for 2007.

In one of them Alruqee successfully executed a project for SR35 million for new Central Maintenance Workshop facilities which included the supply of many special-purpose machines with huge capacities. The work also included the civil construction of foundations and utilities as well as installation, commissioning, programming and training.
The trophy was presented to Saad S Alikhan, executive director of Alruqee Group, by Mansour Al-Kharboush, vice president of Sabic Shared Services and chairman of the Hadeed Board, and Abdulaziz Al Humaid, president of Hadeed.

• Conclusion of a joint venture agreement with one of the largest private sector companies in China known as Beijing Petrochemical Design Institute (BPDI). The agreement was reached to undertake design and engineering contracts from the local petrochemical industry with the aim of developing and establishing local facilities for EPC contracts in the near future.
• Signing of an MoU with one of the most prominent Chinese companies belonging to the CNOOC Group for undertaking and executing offshore seismic survey contracts.
• The supply, installation and commissioning of some of the first fully automatic production lines with robotic arms having six axes or more. Among them were factories for lighting poles, gas cylinders, and structural steel products in different cities of Saudi Arabia.
