Lippert relies on Glaston machinery

Glaston: new plans

Glaston Group has closed a follow-up deal with US based Lippert Components Inc (LCI), an industry leading manufacturer and supplier to the recreational vehicle (RV), marine, power sports and mass transit markets, for an automotive pre-processing line and an insulating glass line.

According to the company, the orders are booked in Glaston’s fourth quarter (Q4/2020) order book and the lines will be delivered during the third and fourth quarters of 2021.

Glaston is the glass processing industry’s innovative technology leader supplying equipment, services and solutions to the architectural, automotive, solar and appliance industries. The company also supports the development of new technologies integrating intelligence to glass.

In June 2020, Glaston disclosed LCI’s deal for an automotive pre-processing line, a Glaston Matrix serial bending furnace and high-performance laminating equipment. Buoyed by strong demand, LCI decided at the end of 2020 to significantly expand their new Bristol, Indiana facility.

LCI has continually invested in the latest technology in order to bring innovative products and solutions to the market. Glaston’s versatile product portfolio including heat treatment technologies, insulating glass technologies as well as automotive glass technologies enable LCI to cover several of their customer’s demands. For their new investment LCI decided to continue down the path with Glaston. To feed the existing Glaston bending and laminating equipment, LCI ordered an automotive Champ Cut Breakout Grind Line. In addition, the deal included a second TPS insulating glass line for additional insulating capacity running in parallel to the previously purchased TPS insulating glass line.

Equipment from all 3 areas

LCI’s investments made during 2020 covers equipment from all three Glaston business areas which makes it one of Glaston’s biggest new machine customers in 2020. “There is a growing interest for outdoor activities, and demand for recreational vehicles, boats and ATV’s is growing. We are very happy to be part of LCI’s ambitious growth journey and success when they expand operations,” said Michael Schmidt, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, North America, Glaston.
