The UAE exports of crude metals and alloys to the US stood at 7,350 tonnes (t) in July 2020, a decrease of 72 per cent or 18,850 tonnes year-on-year (YoY). The UAE had exported 26,200 t to the US in July 2019, according to the latest Mineral Industry Survey report from the US Geological Survey.

On a month on month comparison, exports increased by 17 per cent or 1,080 t from 6,270 t. Compared with May, the UAE’s exports of crude metal and alloys to the US stood 73 per cent lower from 27,200 t.

In the first seven months of 2020, the UAE’s export of crude metals and alloys stood 33 per cent lower YoY. The UAE exported 185,000 t in January-July 2020, from 277,000 t in January-July 2019.

The UAE exported 7,540 t of total aluminium to the US in July 2020, from 26,400 t exported in July 2019. This marked a decrease of 71.44 per cent or 18,860 t YoY. Exports climbed by 20 per cent from June’s export of 6,300 t but declined by 72.38 per cent from May’s exports of 27,300 t.
