UTech Europe rescheduled to September 2021

August 2020

UTech Europe, the world-leading polyurethanes exhibition and conference taking place at the MECC in Maastricht, the Netherlands has been rescheduled to September 14 to 16, 2021.

The event which had originally been due to run in April 2021 typically attracts visitors from over 80 countries and has been postponed to allow more time for safe international travel to normalise.

“Held every three years, UTech Europe is the highlight of the international polyurethanes calendar,” said Debbie Hershfield, Trade Show Director at organiser Crain Communications. “Some health, safety and travel restrictions may still be in place in first part of 2021. Postponing UTECH Europe will allow our exhibitors and visitors the best opportunity for a successful show.”

According to the organisers, UTech Europe is uniquely placed as the only international exhibition and conference for the polyurethanes industry. Unique to Europe is the sheer breadth of the applications of polyurethanes technology from automotive interiors, medical devices, textiles, furniture and footwear through to insulation, adhesives and coatings. When last held in 2018, the triennial UTech Europe attracted over 200 exhibiting companies and a total footfall over three days of 10,113.

Over 90 per cent of exhibition space for the event has already been sold, it said. Exhibiting companies include industry leaders BASF, BorsodChem ZRT, Concentrol, Covestro, Evonik, Hennecke, Huntsman, Lanxess, Milliken, Repsol, Shell Chemicals Europe and Solvay as well as machinery suppliers, systems houses, technical consultancies, and test laboratories.

The deadline for submitting papers for presentation at the UTECH Europe 2021 conference has also been extended until January 22, 2021.
