Almajdouie Logistics partners with Wabco

Almajdouie and Wabco team after announcing the deal

Wabco Holdings, the leading global supplier of braking control systems and other advanced technologies that improve the safety, efficiency and connectivity of commercial vehicles, has announced a landmark deal with Saudi-based Almajdouie Logistics Company.

One of the kingdom’s largest conglomerates, Almajdouie Logistics Company operates in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East and Far East, providing integrated logistics and supply chain solutions to major industries ranging from FMCG to petrochemicals.

Its offerings include transportation, heavy lift, project logistics, freight forwarding, terminal handling, warehousing and distribution, and automotive logistics.

As per the deal, Wabco is equipping 1,200 trucks and 1,400 trailers of Almajdouie Logistics Company with its advanced telematics solutions and support services, replacing the company’s current basic track-and-trace solution.

The implementation of the new solution will support Almajdouie’s ambitious digital transformation program, enabling it to increasingly build its business through real-time fleet management capabilities and data-driven insights, said the statement from Wabco.

Wabco’s advanced Fleet Management Systems (FMS) will enable Almajdouie to strongly differentiate their customer service and quality, it stated.

The technology will significantly increase the efficiency of both its fleet and back office operations, cut operating costs, helping meet increasingly stringent regional legal requirements and boosting driver and cargo safety, it added.

On the big contact win, Peter Bal, Business Leader Fleet Solutions EMEA at Wabco, said: “We are honoured to welcome a market leader like Almajdouie as a greatly valued customer. We are confident that our solutions will boost their ambitious digitisation journey and enable them to take their highly rated customer services to the next level.”

The Saudi group said it had selected Wabco as its partner of choice after a thorough market study.

As part of the agreement, Wabco’s advanced TX-GO 2 on-board computers will be fitted in all Almajdouie trucks. Installed behind the dashboard, TX-GO 2 is connected to the CAN bus, stated Bal.

The solution delivers advanced fuel management capabilities, cargo and temperature monitoring, trend reporting and driver authentication and driver scoring, he added.

Almajdouie Logistics Heavy Lift GM Eyad Hamzah Arafah said: “For years, Almajdouie has been using a basic track-and-trace solution to pinpoint the whereabouts of its fleet. In today’s increasingly competitive and connected logistics market, that is no longer enough.”

“As operating costs, particularly for fuel, continue to rise, we wanted more control over both our fleet and cargo while simultaneously raising the efficiency of our drivers and our back office to better service our customer base. The new solution will also enable us to further boost our stringent safety requirements, which is our number one priority,” he added.
