Over 5,000 visitors from across the world visited the Bahraini pavilion at the just concluded Gulfood 2020, held in Dubai, last month.

Visitors of Bahrain Pavilion got acquainted with the services and products of 13 Bahraini startups, small and medium companies operating in the food and beverage industry over the five days of the food expo, the organisers of the Bahraini pavilion said.

These visitors were a diverse group of decision makers, CEOs, buyers and traders interested in the food industries. Visitors were mainly from Ukraine, GCC, Brazil, France, Poland, South Africa, India, the US and Seychelles.

The Bahraini companies that participated in Gulfood 2020 this year were Trafco Group, Awal Dairy, Deeko Bahrain, Food Supplies Company Limited (Foosco) and Bakemate Factory for Bread and Pastry Mixes.

Eight startup Bahraini food companies also participated in the pavilion. These companies were Joey’s Pizza, Lofty Donuts, Rosehill Mart, Halwachi Sweets, Ooh La La Paris Bakery, Gahwah 360, Green Path and Swalif Tea.

Several Bahraini companies participating in the Bahraini pavilion at Gulfood announced finalising commercial deals and constructive talks with international investors, traders, distributors, and airlines.

The participation of the Bahraini national pavilion in the exhibition came with the aim of strengthening local industries and opening new export channels for Bahraini companies in the local, regional and international markets. This comes within the framework of Bahraini companies’ endeavour to find new markets and reach new importers, investors and partners, and strengthening the contribution of the food sector to the GDP of Bahrain.

This is the seventh year in a row for Bahrain pavilion to participate in the Gulfood exhibition. The Bahraini pavilion was organised by Worksmart for Events Management in partnership with Alwane Society.
