Al Shehri: new role

French multinational utility company Engie has appointed Turki Al Shehri, an industry veteran, as its new chief executive for Saudi Arabia.

In his new role, Al Shehri will spearhead Engie’s efforts to grow its presence in the kingdom and bolster its portfolio of investments, partnerships and customer solutions, as one of the leading French investors in Saudi Arabia.

Engie is a major player in Saudi Arabia and is active in three businesses: Power generation, water desalination, and energy services. 

As the new CEO, Al Shehri will work closely with the three businesses lines, in particular with its customer solutions entities in Saudi Arabia including Engie Cofely, Engie Energy Services Saudi, Cofely Axima, Endel and Tractebel.

He brings with him over 17 years’ experience working in the kingdom’s energy sector. Previously, he held numerous strategic roles including that of the head of Renewable Energy Project Development Office (Repdo) in the Ministry of Energy, and the Head of Power Investment at Saudi Aramco.

Al Shehri is a graduate from the University of South Florida holding a B Sc in Electrical Engineering.
