Leading Swiss manufacturer of specialty chemicals Sika is boosting its UAE operations with the establishment of a new factory in Dubai, UAE.

Sika boasts a leading position in the development and production of systems and products for bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protecting in the building sector and motor vehicle industry.

The company already has a production facility for concrete admixtures in the emirates which has now been relocated to a new site and expanded.

A state-of-the-art mortar facility and a reactor for producing polymers have also been installed which will constitute the basis for the production of high-performance concrete admixtures, said a statement from Sika.

Furthermore, the new facility will play a strategic role as a sales and distribution centre for the region, it stated.

The Swiss specialty chemicals firm has grouped together and greatly expanded its mortar and concrete admixtures production, warehouse capacity, and offices at the new location in Dubai Industrial City.

Material streams, logistics, and the cost structure will thus be optimised, and the course set for further growth, it added.

Ivo Schädler, the regional manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “The new site in Dubai Industrial City is conveniently located between Dubai and Abu Dhabi and has been established as our strategic production, distribution and sales centre for the entire GCC area.”
