Durapal pallets durable

Sharjah-based Cosmoplast offers Durapal plastic pallets to the warehousing and transport industry.

According to Jim Dymock, general manager, Durapal high density polyethylene (HDPE) pallets are durable, hygienic, robust, sturdy and have been developed especially for the industry.

"Durapal are lightweight, provide excellent cold temperature impact resistance and offer more than 10 times the life of returnable wooden pallets. They are also ultraviolet stabilised to resist the harsh climatic conditions in the region. The pallets can be colour-coded for easy product identification and being plastic, the risk of injury or damage to merchandise or personnel by nails or splinters is eliminated," he says.

Durapal pallets are also hygienic, being made of food-grade plastic. They can also be washed or steam-cleaned and have no crevices or porous surfaces in which dirt can harbour.

The pallets come in standard sizes and are specially designed to cover most storage and product distribution applications. Given efficient-enough unit requirements, individual pallets can be produced to meet the customers' specification, design, size, capacity or colour requirements.

Cosmoplast also manufactures storage sheds. "This product provides an economically priced alternative to traditional wood or metal sheds, but without the maintenance problems," says Jamal Abdul Al, product sales manager. The product assembles easily and smoothly with all kit parts being pre-cut, drilled and numbered.

Cosmoplast sheds are designed with natural colours that will naturally blend into any surrounding," adds Abdul Al.

"These sheds are rust-proof, water-proof, fire-proof and can be produced in three standard sizes," he says.

Other products manufactured by Cosmoplast are polyethylene film and a diverse range of pipe products and fittings. The company has been certified to ISO 9002 for its pipeline systems division.

Established in mid-seventies, Cosmoplast is today a leading manufacturer of plastic products. Its products are exported to the Middle East, Europe, Africa, the Far East and US. The company was initially set up to manufacture extruded film and injection moulded products for the Gulf market. Major milestones in its development were its move into blow moulding and pipe extrusion in 1979. Today the company, with a workforce of around 960 personnel, produces 55,000 tonnes of plastic products a year.
