A team from the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) visited Abu Qir Fertilizers Company in Alexandria, Egypt on the sidelines of its participation in the Egyptian-Bahraini Business Forum.

The event discussed developments in the field of training, scientific research, exchange of experiences and occupational safety and health, said a statement from the GPIC.

Abu Qir Fertilizers Company chairman Saad Abu Al-Maati, who received the delegation, said the visit comes from the company›s keenness to benefit from and provide support and advice in the field through its expertise.

The team also learned about the Egyptian company’s potential as one of the largest in the country and the most important in the field of nitrogen fertiliser industry. GPIC president Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery said that such visits help develop GPIC’s operational staff and give it the opportunity to interact with experts overseas while benefitting from their experiences and acquired practices.

He thanked the organisers of the visit and said it reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations between the two sister companies.

The Egyptian company currently contributes about 70 per cent of the country’s production and helps the national economy while assisting in solving important issues facing Egypt, particularly that of food shortages. The company constantly develops its production lines and provides all relevant production requirements. It also sets up new projects through a team of professionals supported by the best international expertise.
