DHL makes key appointments across the Middle East region

DHL Global Forwarding, an international provider of air, sea and road freight services, has appointed Christelle Fadel, Rob Kennaugh and Fadi Bastoni to lead its business in Morocco, Bahrain and Kuwait, respectively.

It also announced appointments of Maha Abu Hijleh, Roy Scaria and Magued Ragheb as country managers for Qatar, Oman and Egypt, respectively.

Amadou Diallo, chief executive officer, DHL Global Forwarding Middle East and Africa, said: “We have high hopes for growth within our region: The Middle East is projected to grow by 3.7 per cent this year while a similar upward trend is predicted for Africa,” he said.

Christelle Fadel takes on the role of general manager for the business in Morocco; she has been with DHL since 2014 and brings with her close to two decades of experience in supply chain and freight forwarding in Germany, France and Morocco, said a statement from the company.

 Rob Kennaugh officially assumes role of country manager in Bahrain.  A veteran of DHL, Kennaugh has been with the company for 25 years, taking on various roles across Australia, China, Oman, Germany, Spain and the UK. Most recently, he was the head of Lead Logistics Partnerships (LLP) for DHL in Abu Dhabi.

Fadi Bastoni has been appointed as country manager to oversee operations in Kuwait. Bastoni first joined DHL Express Saudi Arabia in 2000 where he was, over the years, responsible for various functions including air freight as well as global customer solutions.

Maha Abu Hijleh brings with her close to 20 years of experience in the logistics industry. She joined DHL in 2009 as head of products for ocean freight in Doha and has since established a reputation for driving rapid growth to business volumes and earnings in Qatar.

Roy Scaria is an executive leader who has been with the company for over 20 years. He joined DHL in 1998 as head of billing in Dubai before moving to Bahrain in 2005 to assume the position of chief financial officer. Based in Oman since 2011 his capabilities have guided DHL Oman to record earnings in 2016.

Magued Ragheb having assumed the role of country manager for DHL Global Forwarding Egypt in 2017, has since taken the business to new heights. He is also in charge of coordinating commercial activities in Northern African countries.
