Rexton opens LED light fittings plant

Rexton Technologies Middle East, an industrial arm of Kingston Holdings, has opened a 80,000-sq-ft LED (light-emitting-diode) manufacturing facility in Sharjah, UAE.

Located at the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone), the facility is the largest LED light manufacturing facility in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, the company claimed.

Set up with a total investment of over Dh50 million ($13.6 million), it includes a fully integrated and advanced manufacturing unit that is spread across 125,000 sq ft of manufacturing area and boasts a 3000-sq-ft testing laboratory that specialises in LED light technologies.

The new manufacturing unit has the capacity to manufacture 100,000 recessed fittings, 150,000 batten fittings, and a variety of commercial weather proof fittings, highbays and floodlights.

The new corporate office incorporates eco-friendly techniques, green building concept, fitted with double glazed black colour glass, insulated blocks walls, insulated roofing and external walls covered by composite, white aluminum cladding and green surroundings, PIR, light level sensors and a very advanced chiller unit which detects human presence to activate the air conditioning.

The new unit was inaugurated by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, the chairman of Sharjah Chamber of  Commerce and Industry, and Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, the director of Saif Zone and Hamriyah Freezone along with Lalu Samuel, the chairman and managing director of Kingston Holdings and Rexton Technologies.

Al Owais noted that the Rexton project is an innovative industrial project that is based on state-of-the-art green technology. He stressed that the Chamber will continue its efforts to double the volume of investments in the industrial sector in Sharjah and bring more investments similar to the Rexton project to the emirate.

Al Mazrouei congratulated Rexton technologies for launching this project while Samuel praised the level of support and facilities that Rexton Technologies has received to launch the project.
