Industry majors line up for GIF

February 2018

AS the countdown nears for the 2018 edition of the Gulf Industry Fair, support continues to pour in from industry majors queuing up to join the event, which remains a unique one-stop event promoting the suppliers and developers of industrialisation of economies across the GCC.

The annual industrial expo, beginning early next month in Bahrain, has received strong endorsement from Bahrain Investment Wharf (BIW), which confirmed its strategic sponsorship of the upcoming event.

A 1.7-million-sq-m model industrial city ideally located in the heart of Salman Industrial Area, BIW is the brainchild of Inovest Group’s real estate arm Tameer. The industrial area was developed to contribute to the kingdom’s industrial growth by acting as a magnet to attract both local and foreign direct investment looking for facilities to enhance their global business development strategies.

Inovest Group CEO and BIW managing director Murad Al Ramadan noted: “Our strategic sponsorship highlights our mission to work with our stakeholders in the government and the private sector towards supporting and developing light-medium industries in the kingdom through our global standard facilities.  Our focus is on embracing a greater commitment to supporting the kingdom’s start-ups and SMEs, and better facilitation of industry-based business requirements. We aim to empower the national economy through our facilities, to be an engine for growth, diversity, and prosperity.”

BIW has seen a flurry of activity recently, from new appointments to on-the-ground operational developments.  Commenting on this and its participation in Gulf Industry Fair, Engineer Abdulla Alabbasi, director of technical affairs for BIW, said: “As a world-class industrial park, Bahrain Investment Wharf is pleased to be part of an event that targets industrialisation in the kingdom and wider GCC area.  In line with this focus, BIW provides pre-serviced plots for industrial, logistic, commercial, and labour accommodation use, to support manufacturing and industrial business activities in the kingdom. It also has state-of-the-art infrastructure in place and access to key national transportation routes. Through our participation in the GIF, we aim to highlight our recent rebranding initiative, as well as our focus on stronger business-government exchanges.”

“Bahrain Investment Wharf is a key driver for the development of the industry as part of the economy of Bahrain. Their decision to join Gulf Industry Fair as a Strategic Sponsor is an important milestone in the development of Gulf Industry Fair as a valued showcase to promote industry, business and manufacturing in Bahrain and the GCC,” said Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director, HCE, the organisers of the event.

BIW sits as a strategic sponsor of GIF with power players Bapco, National Oil and Gas Authority (Noga) and Aluminium Bahrain (Alba).

Majaal Warehouse Company, a leading developer and operator of industrial facilities in Bahrain, reaffirmed its participation at GIF as the company is currently studying investment opportunities for the year and will meet with potential partners at
the fair. A subsidiary of First Bahrain Real Estate Development Company, it has an established reputation for offering facilities and services positioned to support small to medium-sized enterprises.

“We are really proud of Majaal as it represents a company that is now a leader within its sector and is attracting the attention of investors locally and regionally. As a mature and established company, Majaal is now ready to expand through new partnerships and potential REIT listings,” said Amin Al Arrayed, managing director of Majaal.

“Gulf Industry Fair is the only expo in the region that is dedicated to promoting industrial developments in Bahrain and the wider region, stimulating Bahrain’s industry growth,” Al Arrayed said.

“Majaal’s presence at Gulf Industry Fair is essential recognition of the important contribution of first-class innovative industrial facilities to industrial development,” said Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director, HCE, the organisers of the event.

Al Haddad Commercial Centre, the official importer and distributor of a number of internationally renowned automotive products in Bahrain, will showcase Metabo high performance industrial power tools and services (corded and cordless) at the leading annual industrial expo in the GCC.

Abdulla Al Haddad, chairman, Al Haddad Commercial, said: “We will be offering special packages on Metabo products during the fair because we have found that the exhibition adds potential orders outside our normal customer base.”

“The Gulf Industry Fair showcases Bahrain’s capabilities as a trading hub for businesses involved in the industry. As a Bahraini company, our values fall in line with the fair’s achievements,” he added.

Ahmed Suleiman, exhibition director of HCE, said: “Gulf Industry Fair visitors will get a chance to benefit from the special packages on Metabo products and services at the Al Haddad Commercial stand as well as the product knowledge available from the company’s staff.”

Bahrain Pack (United Paper Industries) has signed up to showcase its range of innovative customised packaging solutions at the event.

Bahrain Pack general manager Hamed Faleh Al Abdulla said: “United Paper Industries is a company based in Bahrain with extensive exports around the GCC region. Our aim at GIF is to promote our full range of customised packaging solutions designed to meet the requirements of industrial manufacturers and service providers.”

“Bahrain Pack is celebrating its 25th year in 2018. Our first 25 years of business have been successful in achieving 80 per cent share of the market in Bahrain, apart from high-value clients in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and in Jordan,” added Al Abdulla.
