Bahrain-based Chocolate & Company, a specialist in chocolate industry, is planning to double its production capacity up to two tonnes per day by early next year, said a top official.

From its premium confectionary manufacturing plant located in Sanad area of the kingdom, Chocolate & Company has been producing and selling in wholesale and under private labels to retail chains and other customers region wide since 2008.

The company is planning to shift in the near future to a much larger permanent facility located in the Bahrain International Investment Park.

The premium confectionary manufacturer, which has operations in the Arabian Gulf countries as well as Morocco and India, is now seeking to expand into regional markets through franchisees, said sales manager Mansour Izz Al Din, who will be part of the Bahrain pavilion at the upcoming Gulfood expo in Dubai.

“During the expo, we will look for agents and explore the horizon of the evolution of the food industry in general, especially at a time when economic challenges escalate as a result of falling oil prices,” he added.
