Shaikhani: RWI products offer advantages

OMANI construction firm Bahwan Engineering Company (BEC) will use rubber insulation products made by the UAE-based Rubber World Industries (RWI), it was announced recently.

The move follows the signing of an agreement by the two companies. BEC executes integrated multi-disciplinary construction projects in sectors including oil, gas and power, HV transmission and distribution, airports, hotels, hospitals and commercial and residential complexes.

BEC will use RWI’s diverse range of rubber insulation products, particularly its closed-cell Gulf-O-Flex line. RWI will be leveraging its portfolio of products for current and future BEC projects in the UAE and the rest of the Middle East region.

RWI is part of the international business conglomerate, the Shaikhani Group of Companies.

“Industry analysts have expressed confidence in the timeliness of the new alliance, which will prove to be an advantage for BEC and its ongoing line of projects,” a statement issued after the signing said.  The statement observed that the region’s construction segment continues to demonstrate rapid growth and that Oman, in particular, is witnessing a large influx of projects where RWI’s Gulf-O-Flex line can address the demand for elastomeric rubber-insulated building materials.

“Recent industry reports show that the Omani Government is investing heavily into the construction of both residential and commercial developments and the property market is consolidated. In addition, the local government is looking to position Oman as a prime tourist destination with the implementation of tourism-based projects like new hotels, airports, resorts and the like.”

Rizwan Shaikhani, managing director, RWI, said the agreement with BEC further reinforced RWI’s reputation as a leading manufacturer of world-class rubber-based building materials.

“Using our diverse range of products, including the industry award-winning Gulf-O-Flex range, across all of BEC’s current and future projects, will prove to be a winning advantage for these new infrastructures-allowing them the key confidence and security that the rubber materials used in their buildings are not only high-quality but are also reliable and durable. We look forward to working closely with BEC and the completion of its projects.”

Shaikhani also said the supply pact between RWI and BEC was in line with the rubber’ company’s strategic plans to develop effective marketing alliances with industry leaders and play a part in the effort to promote green buildings. He added that RWI would adhere to set green building codes and promote Gulf-O-Flex’products across the GCC and Middle East region.
