THE Bahrain Logistics Zone (BLZ), part of the kingdom’s Transportation Ministry, has signed a tenancy agreement with Logistics Village Management, a subsidiary of Al Kooheji Contracting, a leader in warehouses and logistics facilities.

The lease agreement was signed by Transportation Minister and Bahrain Economic Development Board acting chief executive Kamal Ahmed and Logistics Village managing director Abdul Ghaffar Al Kooheji.

Logistics Village and BLZ will jointly set up an economical and efficient warehousing solution to store, handle and distribute different products and materials, and provide the warehousing facilities to companies looking to lease prebuilt warehouses. The layout, concept and feasibility study have been completed.

“BLZ has a truly unique offering that includes competitive rates, world-class services for commercial, import/export and re-export activities, efficient turnaround times and close proximity to the state-of-the-art Khalifa Bin Salman Port, all of which help make it an ideal destination for companies looking to establish a strong foothold in the GCC,” said Ahmed.

“We are confident that this venture will provide mutual benefits to meet the growing demand of specialised logistics across the $1 trillion top-tier markets of the Gulf.”

He added that the Ministry of Transportation’s goal behind this project is to provide mutual benefits to meet the growing demand for specialised logistics services across the markets in the Gulf.

Al Kooheji remarked: “We have always selected Bahrain as our destination for the development of logistics warehouses for operations due to its prime location which plays an important role as a distribution hub for Saudi Arabia and the North Gulf markets. Ultimately, this will lead to a drastic increase in the number of companies looking for a readymade warehousing facility to set up shop in Bahrain, which will help support the national economy.”
