SABIC, taking part in its 17th year at Chinaplas 2014 in Shanghai, used the event to showcase a broad and relevant portfolio of materials, technology, applications and solutions. Included in the display was a variety of next-generation industry-leading technologies and solutions from Sabic’s three strategic business units – Innovative Plastics, Performance Chemicals and Polymers.

The display was designed to help customers address some of the most pressing issues in China and the Asia region. Chinaplas is Asia’s largest plastics and rubber fair.

Sabic showcased a portfolio of close to 80 materials, technology, applications and solutions across six major industry sectors – automotive and transportation, building and construction, consumer electronics and lifestyle, electrical and lighting, healthcare, and packaging.

Key exhibits included the latest design concepts such as the all-thermoplastic tailgate for the automotive industry as a lightweight and viable alternative to steel, as well as a pipe attractor made up of a family of tough, sustainable and cost-effective multi-modal HDPE materials for pressure pipe applications.

Visitors to the Sabic booth had the opportunity to see the flexibility and quality of Sabic’s polybutadiene rubber (BR) technology.

iPads at each product bench allowed visitors to browse further e-content such as brochures, datasheets and for the first time, case studies, to learn more about the collaboration and successes behind the company’s exhibits.

As part of Sabic’s engagement with customers, Sabic also lined up a series of technical seminars to introduce new innovations and help customers optimise application design.

Sabic also collaborated with 12 global leading machine manufacturers with a strong presence in the China/Asia market to present materials solutions for blow moulding, injection moulding, blown film and pipe extrusion for its focused industries.
