Panasonic wants to sell more

The company’s headquarters in Osaka, Japan

Panasonic representatives in the Gulf have in recent weeks made a pitch for its electrical construction products and its latest camera models.

The Japanese company showcased its electrical construction solutions at Middle East Electricity 2014 in Dubai, the line-up comprising wiring, electrical conduits, lighting and air moving solutions designed to offer increased functionality and efficiency to Middle East homes and buildings in the coming years.

Tatsuo Maeda, general manager, Eco Solutions Division, Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa, said Panasonic had a clear role to play in the Middle East construction industry which is set to experience unparalleled construction activity over the next decade.

Panasonic highlighted a new high-end series of wiring devices known as Flatima. The switch structure with push-on/off handling mechanism is a world first with technology unique to Panasonic. This feature is maximised by the flatness of the product and the plate structure, unprecedented in conventional wiring devices. Aluminum boards, selected metal for modern living space and matt black finish create a combination with impact. The resulting cutting edge image harmonises with any interior.

Other Panasonic products highlighted at the event included the ceiling mount ventilation fan with DC motor and the energy recovery ventilation (ERV) fan for IAQ solutions.

Regional photography connoisseurs can lay their hands on the latest imports from Panasonic – two new models DMC- LZ40 and TZ55 of the popular Lumix digital compact cameras.

“The art of photography is constantly evolving, so is the demand for innovative cameras, and Panasonic has been meeting these demands with cameras that are designed specifically for these consumers,” said Hitesh Ojha, deputy general manager, audio video products, Panasonic Marketing Middle East & Africa. “Our new cameras are packed with full functionality that allow photographers of all caliber to capture exceptional images,” he added.

The Lumix DMC-LZ40 features an exceptionally powerful 42 x optical zoom lens (35 mm camera equivalent: 22-924 mm) that is integrated with an optical image stabiliser. The resolution of the CCD has also been upgraded to 20-megapixel and the iA (Intelligent Auto) mode allows users to leave everything to the camera yielding beautiful images with its optical image stabiliser, face detection, intelligent scene selector and intelligent exposure features.

The DMC-TZ55, an all-round camera with its powerful 20 x optical zoom lens (35 mm equivalent: 24-480 mm), is the new member of the Lumix TZ series. It comes complete with a 16-megapixel high sensitivity MOS sensor and the imaging engine excels not only in picture quality but also in its processing speed. It enables 1920 x 1080 full-HD high quality video recording and high speed burst shooting at 10 fps (TBD) in high picture quality.

With the Wi-Fi connectivity, users can connect the camera to their smartphone/tablet anywhere, and the 3.0-inch large 460 K-dot monitor tilts up by 180-degree making it extremely easy to take self-portraits.
