GULF Industry Fair (GIF), scheduled to be held in Bahrain next month (February),  has announced that two prominent establishments in the region’s industrial landscape are coming aboard as exhibitors for the first time – Modon and Ducab.

Modon, the Saudi Industrial Property Authority, is responsible for developing and supervising industrial lands in Saudi Arabia and tasked with regulating and promoting industrial estates and technology zones. The authority aims to encourage private sector involvement in industrial areas with the larger goal of spurring investment and employment among Saudi nationals.

Ducab is one of the leading producers of cables in the Middle East, manufacturing a range of high, medium and low voltage cables and offering cable components and accessories from its three manufacturing facilities in the UAE. The company also operates a copper rod plant and a PVC compound manufacturing facility.

Their entry greatly embellishes Gulf Industry Fair’s offerings and puts it in the forefront of trade fairs in the region, particularly the Northern Gulf.

GIF also announced that several European participants would be showcasing their goods and services, testifying to the growing appeal of GIF.

Commenting on Modon’s entry, Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director of Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE), organiser of GIF, remarked: “Modon’s larger goal is to have a Saudi industry capable of competing locally and globally. Their participation at Gulf Industry Fair for the first time is recognition that it is by far and away the region’s premier industrial event – providing Modon with a target audience of businesses, customers and investors in the future industrial growth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
