FALCON Cement Company (FCC), the first Bahrain-based fully integrated cement producer, has announced that following a comprehensive assessment of the company and its systems it has been approved for ISO 9001 quality management system certification by the prominent Belgian accreditation company Bureau Veritas.

This is a key recognition for Falcon as the company continues to both consolidate its position as the leading cement supplier in Bahrain and moves forward with plans to further expand production capacity to better serve the kingdom, where growth in local development and infrastructure projects are driving increased demand.

“We are delighted to have received this prestigious certification,” said executive director Salah Sharif.

“This has been achieved with the trust and support of our board, management team and staff and the confidence of our customers. It also goes some way towards underscoring our commitment to being the leading cement manufacturer in the kingdom through the delivery of high product quality and excellence
in service.

“We look forward to further building our position and even more effectively meeting the needs of the current and future market in Bahrain through continued growth and the pursuit of quality enhancement.”

Falcon, which started production in March 2009, currently has production rated capacity of 1,000 tonnes of cement per day with planned expansion in the coming year expected to see this grow to more than 2,500 tonnes per day.

This represents about 50 to 60 per cent of the current cement requirements of the Bahraini market.
