Bahrain-based Arabian Exhibitions Management is set to host the inaugural Society of Petroleum Engineers’ Kuwait Oil and Gas Show and Conference (KOGS 2013) on October 7.

It is set to be the largest gathering of the oil and gas industry experts ever seen in Kuwait, said the organisers.

"Kuwait is one of the most compelling industry environments in the region," said Arabian Exhibition Management director of sales and marketing Fawzi Al Shehabi.

"By 2020, it aims to reach a production capacity of four million barrels per day and it is estimated that Kuwait has allocated $75 billion for the development of oil-related projects," he noted.

"An international exchange of technology and experience is critical to realising these plans."

KOGS 2013 is supported by the Kuwait Ministry of Oil and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries.

The event opens on October 7 at the Regency Hotel in Kuwait with an executive plenary session on the conference’s theme "The Power of Collaboration, People and Technology in the Oil and Gas Industry."

A total of 17 technical sessions with more than 100 technical and poster presentations on topics covering downstream, reservoir management, product optimisation, sustainable development, drilling and completion technologies will follow during the subsequent three days of the conference at Kuwait International Fair.

The KOGS 2013 conference will also offer four panel sessions led by presidents, chief executives and directors.

Top GCC national oil companies Bapco, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, KPC and Saudi Aramco will be the principal exhibitors alongside Chevron, Shell and Total.

Service industry giants Baker Hughes, CGG, Dow, Halliburton, Schlumberger and Weatherford as well as large national groups from France, Iraq, North America and the UK, plus a host of independent specialist suppliers and distributors from across the globe complete the line-up.
