ALUMINIUM Bahrain expressed its commitment to supporting global initiatives being formed to strengthen best practices in public service. The smelter served as a platinum sponsor for the 2013 United Nations Public Services Forum, Day and Awards Ceremony that was held in Bahrain in late June.

Organised under the patronage of His Majesty the King of Bahrain, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the event focused on the theme: Transformative e-Government and Innovation: Creating a Better Future for All.

The sponsorship agreement was announced after a meeting between Alba’s chief financial officer, Ali Al Baqali, and the vice chairman of the organising committee of UNPSD 2013, Mohammed Ziad Asfour. Present at the meeting was the senior manager for human resources and public relations, Abdul Rahman Janahi.

Commenting on Alba’s sponsorship support for the United Nations Public Services Forum, Day and Awards Ceremony 2013, Asfour said Bahrain was the fourth country in the world and the first in the region to host a forum outside the UN premises in New York since its launch 10 years ago.

Al Baqali said Alba remains keen on offering its support to initiatives that contribute towards emphasising the kingdom’s leadership position.
