Almajdouie Logistics has signed a contract with Mitsubishi Heavy industries (MHI) for handling cargo meant for Phase 2 of the Rabigh IWSPP, the independent water, steam and power project for the largest petrochemical complex in the Gulf.

The project begins in May 2013 and the expected completion date is December 2014. The total volume to be handled is 125,000 freight tonnes and 1,900 containers imported from across the world.

Almajdouie’s responsibilities include customs clearance at all the ports of entry in Saudi Arabia, pulling out containers from sea ports and transporting them to the Almajdouie Yard at Tusdeer and the new terminal at Khumra, devanning of containers and delivering material at the Rabigh Rabigh site.

The contract was signed by the CEO of Almajdouie Logistics, S I Mustafa, and Satoru Iwamoto, manager, MHI.

“Almajdouie believes the contract award is attributable to its superb capability as was proven in previous projects they handled for MHI – Rabigh 1 and Jazan – and in its successful track record in other projects. This project is a remarkable development and will enable us to win more contracts in the future,” a statement said.

“Almajdouie Logistics is the platform for all project logistics and supply chain management solutions. Our three decades of experience strongly equips us in understanding and analysing logistics industry requirements in the region and we’re always glad to accept any logistics challenges to work hand in hand with our clients while offering smart solutions.”

An important development this year was integration within Al Majdouie Logistics divisions. Earlier, the divisions operated independently as Al Majdouie Transport, Al Majdouie Heavylift Transport & Engineering, Al Majdouie Logistics & Distribution, Continental Freight, and International Projects Development.  With integration, these units now operate under the flagship of Al Majdouie Logistics Company LLC.

Under the new setup, Almajdouie Logistics Company’s services cover a wide spectrum of project logistics and supply chain solutions such as transportation, freight forwarding and heavy lifting & engineering as well as terminal operations and warehousing.

The company has dedicated business development teams and support services for assisting core services, all of which allows for a total integration of tailored solutions that it provides its clients.
