Lord to project its range at expo

Lord Corporation’s headquarters in Cary, North Carolina, US

Lord Corporation, a global leader in developing adhesives for industrial markets, is preparing to showcase a new, stronger No-Mix Adhesive system and a new Sign Selector Guide for adhesives along with a selection of its adhesives at the 2013 International Sign Expo, April 3-6, Mandalay Bay Convention Centre in Las Vegas, Nevada (US).

The new, stronger No-Mix System features the No-Mix adhesive components, also known as “honeymoon” adhesives, which are applied on the opposite mating surfaces of the substrates to be bonded. Curing does not start until the parts are brought together. This assembly technique is especially good for large surfaces with tight tolerances, such as mounting a sign face. At the show, Lord is launching a totally overhauled Sign Selector Guide for adhesives. It will make it easier for sign shop technicians to choose the correct adhesive for a job. Lord 400-series and 7500-series products are featured there with details on dispensing equipment and accessories for the adhesive products.

At its booth, the company will highlight step-by-step methods for creating a box-frame and assembling a channel letter with trim-cap using the 400-series and 7500-series adhesives.

Series 400 acrylic adhesives, in combination with Lord Accelerator 19 or 19GB, can be used to replace welding, brazing, riveting and other mechanical fastening methods. They perform well in low-temperature environments and applications that are subject to high impact or high-peel loads. These adhesives are designed to bond a wide variety of prepared or unprepared metals and engineered plastics.

Lord 7500 Series urethane adhesive is an equal-mix, two-component, clear urethane that bonds Lexan, ABS, polycarbonate, and other plastics. It also bonds primed metals. This environmentally-friendly adhesive is non-flammable and resistant to sunlight, weathering, humidity and salt spray. Its self-leveling formula flows into hard-to-reach places.

Michael Verdi, Lord’s senior technical service representative, Americas, will speak at the sign expo on “A practical guide for using structural adhesives in sign fabrication.”

Meanwhile, Lord Corporation, maker of Fusor automotive repair adhesives, the leading metal and plastic bonding solution for the automotive collision repair market, announced the launch of OEM-recommended Lord Fusor HD Seam Sealers.

Recommended by GM, Ford and Chrysler, Lord Fusor HD Sealers are single component products designed for duplicating OEM beaded, brushed, sprayed and weld-sealed seams. Offering a higher quality appearance than common seam sealers, they will not flow back or allow brush marks and spray patterns to fade.

They pass the OEM Gravelometer Testing, as recommended by Chrysler in Collision Repair Bulletin “Replacement Underbody Coating Materials.” It also is the only one-component sealer approved to replace OEM non-structural weld through sealers as recommended by Chrysler in Collision Repair Bulletin “Welding Sheet Metal Repairs and Replacements.”

Lord Corporation is based in Cary, NC (US) and has manufacturing facilities in eight countries.
