Motorola has launched the Timeport brand, one of its three new consumer-orientated categories in the Middle East.

"The Motorola Timeport range meets the needs of the 'time manager' who demands a total business solution. By combining technological innovation and superior performance, the products will deliver multi-task communication and time-management capabilities," says Fadi Kachkouche, Motorola's regional brand marketing manager, Middle East and North Africa.

The Timeport range includes:

  • Timeport L7089 tri-band GSM phone;

  • Timeport P7389 WAP enabled tri-band GSM phone; and

  • Timeport P1088 smart phone.

    Motorola's concept two-way Timeport Wireless Communicator, a customisable messaging device, has also been previewed.

    This product, which allows transmission of data to and from a compatible PC, will run on GPRS technology - which sends data up to 12 times faster than current GSM networks.

    "Motorola Timeport users value above all the sense of control that comes from having the right information at the right time to make the right decision," says Timeport brand manager Elaine Devereux. "That's why they choose Motorola Timeport solutions to help them manage schedules, keep in touch with colleagues and clients and to get the job done."

    Complementing the Timeport brand will be two further market-focused categories.

    The first, the Motorola V Series, delivers style-led networking and socialising tools, designed to be the ultimate symbols of personal success.

    The second category, Motorola Talkabout includes phones, pagers and high-performance outdoor communications tools for those who need immediate contact.

    A new Motorola Talkabout TA200 walkie-talkie is expected to be released in the region soon.

    The device is said to be ideal for groups who need to stay in touch while shopping, skiing, hiking, camping or just enjoying the great outdoors.
